| a few months ago i met a moroccan lady in the park and since then we became good friends i am trying to help her and gather some information for her here is her story : she came to england 14 years ago when she was 20 years old , her visa was to ireland, sponsored by a friend who told her he is offering her a job in his company , unfortunatly he wasn t honest and she discovered he was lying , she run away and went to some cousins who lives in england , stayed with them for a while , they started to treat her really bad , like a servant house work etc , many times beaten up verbal and physical abuse, she run away again , she met an english man who married her about 13 years ago , when she moved from her cousins house she lost her papers her carte national and passport , she just has the copies now of carte nationale that s all and an english mariage certificat this woman is living in fear , she is been through a lot and she is very scared she doesn t trust people , she did not see her family in morocco about 14 years now , her husband is a very caring man been looking after her , she doesn t let him get in touch with a solicitor or immigration because she is scared psychologically she is very fragile , very depressed . cries a lot her situation is very complicated and doesn t know what to do : her fear is from the following: - loosing her husband by deporting her after 13 years of mariage ? -she wants to have a child but because of depression and fear she is very worried and she imagines that if she have a child it will be taken from her ? -she has a lot of proofs that she is been in the country 14 years because she is been ill and visited doctors so many times after her husband forced her to do so because she doesn t trust people ? -is it true she could be deported even after staying 14 years in uk and being married 13 years ago?- -she is also scared that when she will be deported she will prisoned by the moroccan police because she hasn t an ID (carte national or passport) -do you think she has rights now after staying 14 years in uk? -she is scared from immigration people and what they will do to her ? and they will put her in prison before deportation? she is imagining all these scenarios ? i tried to gather some information for her i couldn t find any clear answers her situation is unique and complicated , i even went to a solicitor after i promised her not to give her name and address just a general enquiry but no answer from him he insisted to meet the person which she refuses because of her psychological fear. this is her story i tried to write it briefly , her main question : after 14 years no ID does she have any rights or not? all opinions are welcome thank you . |

| Your story is a bit strange. First of all if she lost all her papers how did she manage to get married? surely they must have asked her her passport? then once she got married she should have gone to the home office to get a residency status put on her passport. anyway she has been married 13 years to a british man and therefore is now british herself and has been british for at least 12 years. If i am not mistaken after one year you can apply for a british passport. Also her husband must be very stupid as well, if after 14 yeras he doesn't know that his wife is now british!!!! All she has to do is to get her marriage certificate and apply for a british passport!!! |
