Agissez : Des colons saisissent des terres au Sud d'Hébron

Gush Shalom nous demande de nous joindre d'urgence à une campagne de protestation par mail, relative à un cas tout à fait scandaleux d'appropriation de terres par des colons au sud de Hébron, les faits ayant été confirmés par le Land Defence Committee (Comité de Défense de la Terre) palestinien

Le 29 février, des colons de Karmel, une colonie au sud de Hébron, ont envahi les terrains appartenant à la famille palestinienne Hadalin, un habitant de la ville de Yatta, et ont commencé la construction d'une plate-forme de béton en vue d'y placer des caravanes, tout en menaçant la famille palestinienne avec des armes fournies par l'armée israélienne, sous prétexte d'auto-défense.

Il est à noter que ces terrains sont enregistrés comme étant la propriété de M. Salah Hadalin, qu’aucun ordre de confication n’a été présenté et que les terrains en question fournissent une part significative des maigres ressources de la famille qui comprend une cinquantaine d’enfants et d’adultes..

À l'heure où nous écrivons, cette incursion illégale de colons et la construction intensive durent depuis près d’une semaine, sans que le gouvernement militaire israélien ne prenne de mesure pour l'arrêter et pour restituer la terre à ses propriétaires légaux.

Cela est loin d'être un cas unique, bien que l’audace et le manque de toute prétention à la légalité semblent extrèmes même pour les colons.

La permanence de telles opérations de saisies de terres et de l’expansion des colonies - non seulement sans entrave de la part du gouvernement d'Israel mais obtenant souvent l’appui financier et logistique du gouvernement ainsi qu’une protection militaire pour les colons impliqués - montre la moquerie de l'adhésion avouée du gouvernement à "la Feuille de Route pour la Paix", comportant un article central qui est l'obligation d'Israel de démanteler tous les agrandissements des colonies effectués après mars 2001, et d’empêcher de nouvelles créations.

Cela soulève également de sérieux doutes, au moins, sur l'intention avouée du Premier Ministre Sharon d'évacuer la bande de Gaza et d’y démanteler les colonies.

Gush Shalom a l’intention de mobiliser les organisations des Droits de l'Homme israéliennes et internationales sur le cas des terrains de la famille Hadalin, et d’y faire participer des membres de la Knesset israélienne et de rechercher les possibililés d'une bataille juridique.

I'm informed that settlers from the illegal settlement of Karmel south of Hebron have invaded since Feb. 29th the registered land and property of the Hadalin family, and have started to pour concrete for mobile homes. As well, I'm informed that the settlers are threatening the Hadalin family with arms supplied by the Israeli Defense Forces.

All these actions are formally illegal under the Geneva Conventions and other international applicable laws and regulations. I therefore demand the Israeli government to take all necessary action in order to move the settlers out of the Hadalin property without delay and have them indicted accordingly.

Once again, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has grasped at terror to obscure
and water down his disengagement plan. The suicide bombing in Ashdod,
together with the bombings in Madrid, led him two days ago, just before
barely surviving a Knesset confidence vote, to submit a "diet" version of
the plan.

Again the IDF is out to deliver a "crushing blow" to the terrorists. Again
large-scale and casualty-heavy armored incursions are planned
throughout the Gaza Strip, and again missiles will be launched from the air
to liquidate the "senior perpetrators of terrorism." Senior sources in the
Israel Defense Forces explain, with unconcealed satisfaction, that at long
last "we are returning to the period before the hudna [cease-fire]." That
was the happy period in which the gloves were taken off and the IDF was
permitted to assassinate the leaders of Hamas. Now, following the latest
wave of terrorism, which peaked with this week's attack at the port of
Ashdod, the moment has come for another massive liquidation campaign,
which this time won't make do with only Hamas but will aim at killing the
maximum number of leaders of all the Palestinian organizations in the Gaza
Strip.
