i wanna schedule my flight

hey folks,
I got my visa last week and my courses will not start before the 5th of January, a friend of mine told me that it's advisable to get to Canada a month before the start of the courses(means to fly on the 5th of December) to prepare the papers, get accustomed to the weather before the winter gets harsh and try to find a job in the campus to get a NAS(i did not really get his last point...) do you agree ? what do you think would be a 'good' date for flying.

bsr, I am in the same situation as you, I had my visa on October 1st, while lessons will begin on January 4th, but I intend to leave on November 29th, it is wholly fair, you can even leave mid-November.

for information, for November the ticket costs 5600 dh.
