Poll shows corruption, unemployment and poverty threaten Morocco

The results of a poll by the Moroccan Observatory of Public Administration, published in the Moroccan daily La Vie Eco last week, shows that corruption, unemployment and poverty threaten the normal governance of the country. The poll involved 1,800 households and 111 experts, considered opinion leaders in the field. It focused on the perception of Moroccans of their governing system and its efficiency. The respondents said that the major obstacles to a more efficient state administration are corruption (29.5%), unemployment (25.1%) and poverty (21.8%). Some 74% think that the Moroccan judicial system is corrupted, while 7% are satisfied. Almost 3.7% of the people find the access to some basic public services, such as health care, education and water and electricity supply, easy and reliable, while 25% think that the citizens of Morocco cannot easily obtain those services unless they belong to certain circles having customer relationships with the respective institutions. The figures you've shown us are obviously alarming. I should say I'm not very surprised,though we're all more or less concerned about these scourges of modern society. One might say we need magic wands to change the course of the action; yet, I do believe the situation favours quite a lot unscrupulous people who master the rules of the game,and who claim it's only a trickle-down theory ,whereby the person who bribes also benifits from the service. Any further comment would be taboo topic.I still believe,however,it does not take that much to stick to moral values to boost the morale,does it ?

yeah man, I believe so. it was called the hassani democracy before, I don't know it's name now .

I use to work for inspecting corruption in Morocco, I have done my last work in 1990 and left. as far as I know, we did good job in studying this phenomena but after we send the papers to the palace, you receive or thank you or get fired . as long as it is still working as a country, there is nothing to say. all countries arround the world, were built thru corruption and I'm not going to stab my country in the back because those running it can not do perfect job.
