Hi all, We are looking to find a building plot either around Marrakech (up to20km out), Essaouira (up to +/- 20km north or south) or Agadir (again up to 20km noth or south) to build a small projet touristique. Unfortunately from our last visit it seems that prices asked really depend on what country you come from. Moroccans seem to get a good deal, if however you a foreigner who speaks french then the price goes up, and worse case scenario you speak english, then prices get even higher. We are looking for some well connected contacts who could help us to: a) source land, negotiate a reasonable price and negotiate a purchase option b) find out and obtain all necessary information related to the local plan de developement (to know where roads will be buid, which area you can build on and which not) c) help us compile a dossier to submit to the local authority to obtain building permission d) who could help us to find architects and a serious honest builder If you think you can assist us with the above or you might know some local contacts, we would be grateful if you could get in touch with us. At the same time we are looking for co-investors in this project. Apologies for the direct contact but we think other peoples experience is the best help we can get. Thanks in advance for your help Krille |

it is easy to assist you because I have familly there. but the problem is what can you afford??? in Morocco, there is no business mentality like US. the problem you got to choose between 2 things: to hire someone to look for you, which mean he will not be wasting his time for free. or you say what you can afford and someone will be like intermediare seller. since there is no clear business mentality, the people who come from US to investe in Morocco, they want all free and the people who are there, they have to defend their right for comission. you can email me, I can connect you to someone in the area but choose what do you want do first... |

Sallam AlHemar, Thanks for your reply. I agree, business practices in Morocco are not as easy to grasp for people from the UK, due to a complete different business culture. However there is one common point: knowing the well connected people makes things happen. That is exactly what we are looking for: well connected people withing the property market in Morocco who know everyone and who knw how to grease the wheels when required. We are willing to work either with people on a full time basis (basically hire them) or work with people on a free-lance basis. Whoever we will work with will however need to demonstrate a proven track record in facilitating property development projects. If you think you have the necessary background, please send me an email outlaying your previous experience and achievements within that particular field. Kind Regards, Krille |
