welcome to the American dream coolman
lecon number1 about the americans:
we start the day early, having set the alarm clock (made in Japan), for 600 A.M. While the coffee pot (made in Japan) is perking, we put our blow dryer (made in Taiwan) to work and shave with electric razor (made in Hong Kong). we put on a dress shirt (made in Taiwan), designer jeans (made in Singapore), and a pair of tennis shoes (made in Korea).

After cooking up some breakfast in an electric skillet (made in Philippines), we sit down to figure out on a calculator (made in Mexico), how much we can spend today. After setting the watch (made in Switzerland) to the radio (made in Hong Kong), we go out, get in the car (made in Germany), go looking as has been for months, for a good paying American job.

After the end of another discouraging and fruitless day, we decide to relax for a while. we put on a pair of sandals (made in Brazil), pour a glass of wine (made in France), and turn on TV (made in Japan), and ponders again why we can’t find a good paying American job.
welcome to America
ha ha ha..

lets be serious for real, America is the land of opportunity, you can become anything you want.
you can become a billionaire as you can become a homeless in the streets of NY, it all depends on you, but the opportunity is always there, unlike France.
you'll do just fine just work hard.
forget about canada
good luck.

Canada is in America unless you mean the United States of America

Anyway, I've heard that the procedure for immigration for the states is too long.

America refers both to the the new world and to the united states of America. So Canada , Mexico, U.S.A, Belize, San Jose, San Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras,Nicaragua, Panama, Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Rep., Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts/ Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, Trinidad/ Tobago are all in America.

So, I'm not complicating things. It's geography man !!!!!

I've heard that the procedure takes too long (5 years ) but I don't have any other details.

If you win in the green card lottery it's gonna be different
